Advocate, Partner, & Employer: Walmart Care Clinics Attends AANP in Philadelphia

Written By: Stephen Lytle

Representatives for Walmart Care Clinics recently attended the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) conference in Philadelphia to help spread awareness about their primary care model and engage nurse practitioners throughout the United States.

Walmart Care Clinics was officially represented by Jean Anderson (Lead NP Carrollton, TX), Monica Rhymes (Lead NP Macon, GA), Lynne Johnson (Credentialing Support Manager), Tina Paschedag (Sr. HR Manager), Rich Rothman (Director –Talent Acquisition), Amar Patel (Regional Talent Specialist) and Stephen Lytle (Recruiting Manager). Also in attendance at the conference were Tracey Kniess (Director-Clinic Education), Angela Dykes (Lead NP N Augusta GA), and Annie Abraham (Staff NP Royse City, TX) who stopped by the exhibitors’ booth to spend some time with the team and engage fellow nurses.

While at the conference the Walmart Care Clinics team was able to spend time with over 4,500 NP’s from all over the country and help share out message about providing affordable, quality care in a convenient setting. The reception from NP’s was overwhelmingly positive and the most common request heard was, “When are you coming to my area, this is amazing!?” Additionally, while at the conference, Tina and Angela represented the Walmart Care Clinics at the Corporate Council Luncheon to learn more about AANP membership, partnerships, research, education, and legislative advocacy updates. The future of the NP profession is bright and Walmart is glad to have such a great relationship with AANP in addition to supporting state and local nursing groups.

Finally, Stephen was able to spend time at the conference building relationships with NP programs around the country in an effort to build campus relations and fuel future partnerships through grant and scholarship opportunities and offering opportunities to host students on rotation.

Overall, the company was well represented and we were able to grow awareness about Walmart Care Clinics, spend time interacting with amazing nurse practitioners, and develop relationships that will benefit us as we me develop and grow.
