TNP Member Holly Jeffreys Wins State Award for NP Excellence

TNP Member and Current Chair of TNP's Government Affairs Committee, Holly Jeffreys (DNP, APRN, FNP-BC), has been awarded the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) State Award for NP Excellence. The State Award for Nurse Practitioner Excellence, founded in 1991, recognizes a nurse practitioner (NP) in a state who demonstrates excellence in practice, and is only awarded to one NP in every state annually.
Dr. Holly Jeffreys has been board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2002 and completed her DNP at UT in 2009. Jeffreys is the owner and provider for the Family Care Clinics of Panhandle, Boys Ranch, and Vega. She effectively mobilized community support for the development of these rural clinics and continues to lead multidisciplinary healthcare teams utilizing evidence based research along with effective communication in underserved rural communities. Since 2011 Jeffreys has served as the Panhandle Regional Representative for Texas Nurse Practitioners and currently serves as chair for the TNP Government Affairs Committee. Jeffreys was appointed to serve on the Lt Governor's Health Care Advisory Board and was named the US SBDC 2017 Small Business Person of the Year for the Texas Panhandle, as well as 2017 Nurse Practitioner of the Year for the state of Texas. Jeffreys also serves as the Board President for Bushland ISD, Chair for the WTAMU College of Nursing and Health Sciences Advisory Board, and President of the High Plains Republican Women PAC.Jeffreys resides in Bushland with her family and enjoys rodeo and living in the Texas Panhandle.
Recipients of the prestigious AANP 2018 State Award for Excellence, will be honored at an awards ceremony and reception held during the AANP 2018 National Conference June 26-July 1, 2018, in Denver, CO.
